Advertising Policy

The Journal of Digital Sociohumanities (JDS) may include advertisements relevant to the journal’s readership. The following guidelines apply to all advertising:

  1. Types of Adverts:
Only advertisements that are clearly relevant to the academic, digital humanities, and sociohumanities communities will be considered. Advertisements may include books, conferences, workshops, academic tools, software, and services aimed at researchers and practitioners in these fields.

  2. Decision-Making Process:
Acceptance of advertisements is overseen by the Journal Manager and the Publisher. Advertisements are strictly separate from editorial decision-making; the presence or absence of adverts will not influence the peer review or acceptance of submitted manuscripts.

  3. Placement and Display:
Advertisements may be displayed online, linked to content, announcements, or reader behavior, or at random. Care is taken to ensure that advertisements do not disrupt the reader's experience or interfere with the presentation of scholarly content.

  4. Separation from Content:
All advertisements are clearly marked and separated from editorial content to maintain the integrity and independence of the scholarly record.

Direct Marketing Policy

The Journal also engages in limited direct marketing activities, strictly following ethical and professional standards:

  1. Targeting and Appropriateness:
Any direct marketing, including solicitations for manuscript submissions, is carefully targeted and appropriate for the intended audience. The Journal avoids unsolicited bulk marketing and ensures communications are unobtrusive.

  2. Transparency and Accuracy:
Information provided about the journal, its publisher, or related activities is always truthful, accurate, and not misleading. Authors and readers can rely on marketing materials to reflect the Journal’s scope, policies, and services.

  3. Independence from Editorial Decisions:
Direct marketing activities are entirely independent of editorial processes. The solicitation of manuscripts or promotion of the journal does not influence peer review, editorial assessment, or publication decisions.

Note: The Journal of Digital Sociohumanities maintains these policies to ensure transparency, uphold ethical standards, and protect the trust of its authors, reviewers, and readers.
